Building without validating wastes time. In this episode of How I PM, Michael Ionita, CEO of LFG Solutions and YouTuber, shares practical ways to test your product ideas before writing any real code.
🚀 Michael’s Four Keys to Testing Before You Build:
- Run Painted Door Experiments
Present a clickable version of a future feature. If users engage, follow up with questions. If not, you just saved a sprint. - Use Click-Through Prototypes
Build quick, navigable flows in Maze or similar tools. Let users try to accomplish a goal and track where they struggle. - Launch Canary Tests
Release a feature to a small audience before a wider launch. You’ll identify bugs and surprises early. - Run A/B Tests
Use platforms like Google Optimize or Convert to compare how variants perform and make decisions based on real impact.
“Testing before you build saves time, reveals user intent, and protects product quality.”
