Alignment is not just about setting goals. It is about making sure your team actually shares the same definition of success and the energy to reach it.
In this episode of How I PM, Josh Furnas, Co-Founder at UGLYCASH and Limited Partner at Rally Cap VC, shares the single question he uses to check team alignment and momentum: “How excited are you to get to the next destination?”
This question reveals two things:
- Whether your team is aligned on what the destination is
- Whether they are energized enough to get there without being pushed
If the answers are inconsistent, it is time to realign. If the energy is low, it is time to rebuild motivation. The more aligned and excited your team is, the more self-sufficient and effective they become.
